By Max Bowen | max.bowen@northstarreporter.com Recently-completed garden boxes completed as part of Dylan Desrosiers’ Eagle Scout Project will benefit Lenore’s Pantry. At Monday’s School Committee meeting, Desrosiers, a junior North Attleborough High School, outlined the project. Planning and fundraising started in March and excavation on the site was done in August. Six raised beds were installed behind the school, with the work done on three different days. Desrosiers said more than 50 volunteers participated on the project. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 33. Following the completion of the beds, Desrosiers said they will be managed by the student-run Team Green, which will apply for grants to pay for seeds and bulbs. On the well-manicured Baptist Common stands a small obelisk about 6 feet high. There are inscriptions on each of the obelisk's four sides which read as follows: Side 1 - In honor and memory of all the victims of September 11, 2001. United in memory. Side 2 - Dedicated to those who were lost in New York City. May we never forget. Side 3 - Dedicated to those who were lost in Washington, D.C. Side 4 - Dedicated to those who were lost in Pennsylvania. Surrounding the obelisk are eight small, circular flat stones with the names and logos of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, along with New York City's Police and Fire Departments and the Port Authority of New York. At the base of the obelisk is a small plaque stating that the memorial, which was dedicated in 2005, was the result of an Eagle Scout project spearheaded by Scott P. NORTH ATTLEBORO -- The Boy Scouts of North Attleboro's Troop 33 spent a week at Camp Yawgoog to earn merit badges, reports "troop scribe" Austin Bizier. "This particular summer was special because of it being the 100th anniversary of Camp Yawgoog," wrote Bizier. "It has become a tradition to go down to Yawgoog for Troop 33 for over 20 years now, and not one week was without high spirits. As a unit this year, Troop 33 earned 60 merit badges, four honor patrols and honor troop," he wrote, awards that signify this troop as an active participant in the large world of Scouting.
